Domestic abuse victim smiles again with new veneersA victim of domestic violence has received a full makeover from US television show 10 Years Younger.

The Daily Pilot reports that as part of the makeover, Norma Jean, a 41-year-old actress and comedian, received a new set of veneers, an eye lift, chin reconstruction and Botox injections.

Bill Wood, who booked Ms Jean's act at Martini Blues in Huntington Beach, said she looks great after her television restyle.

"She's much more confident and she's smiling a lot more," he said.

However, Ms Jean told the newspaper that the best thing about being featured on the programme that it gave her the chance to make people "wake up to domestic violence".

The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has highlighted television makeover programmes' role in increasing the popularity of veneers.

According to the organisation, there has been a 144 per cent increase in demand for the treatment as they are featured "pretty much on every show".ADNFCR-1374-ID-18505074-ADNFCR
